My films explore physical landscapes through sense of place and emotional landscapes through radical vulnerability. This engagement with honesty extends beyond content and into form, revealing the artifice of cinematic, literary, and other conventions to reach something closer to how we feel our way through life.

Using techniques from documentary filmmaking and various realisms across artistic fields, I approach my projects experimentally and collaboratively so that the process itself shapes the story.

I am inspired by past women artists and thinkers who challenged normative modes, expressing themselves with language that was authentically theirs. My work is also infused with the cultural rituals and aesthetic traditions I inherited from my Caribbean ancestry, which has been transplanted and transformed in my home city: Miami.
